HumanTurn

HumanTurn
one – hour – turn

Let’s turn together for change!

spin around a single time
over the period of an hour
all together

The HumanTurn event – was set forth in 2010 by the One – Day – Turn vision of Gábor Goda:

“I am standing on a hilltop, slowly spinning around my own central axis. Simply spinning around once. I turn just a single time, but over the course of a whole day, which is to say, over a period of 24 hours. For exactly as much time as the Earth turns around its own axis. I am standing in one place for a full day, moving slowly, turning synchronized and harmonized with Earth, becoming one with Her.     I feel that I will do this spin several times in future: at various points around the world, amidst nature, but perhaps in crowded city squares, too. I know that later I will not have to turn alone.”

The first One – Day – Turn of Gábor occurred on May 23, 2010. In 2011, Gyöngyi Beer also accomplished the 24-hour spin. Since then, many others have joined in and done the 360° full turn in synchrony with the Earth, over the years. Among them, there have been those who did the spin over the period of 1 hour, 4 hours or 24 hours, those who were present as assistants in the process, and those who supported the process with their presence and attention.

Today, 10 years after the first 24-hour turn,
we hereby invite you to be part of a collective movement,
a full spin around together, in tune with each other and with the Earth,
not for 24 hours, but for a single hour.

What do we turn for?

We all live here, on Earth and in every moment we are connected to each other.
The sky, the air, the mountains, waters, plants, animals and humans all together make up the Earth.
We, humans, are Earth too!

The Earth turns. Now it’s your turn!

When we turn together, our individual axes meet in the center of the Earth.
We connect:
Our body to the Earth, our mind to each other

When we turn: We change and make things change,
for it is through our collective acts and harmonized attention that more and more people will become aware of the fact that we are connected to each other in every moment of our lives.

How to spin?
  • find a peaceful space for yourself: in nature, at home, or anywhere else
  • create a 1 meter circle to stand in. You only need the space of your footprint to turn
  • to keep the right direction and pacing: find objects (e.g. small pebbles, stones, twigs, books, candles … whatever) with which you mark the circle, and place the objects on the circuit of the 1 meter circle
  • silence your thoughts, bring the intention of turning together into your awareness
  • at the beginning of the spin, at 6 PM CET, step into the center of the circle
  • begin by facing East
  • connect to the Earth mentally, and to those you are now turning with together
  • throughout the spin, your sight (your attention), and your chest (your heart) will guide you and show the direction
  • turn slowly, continuously, and evenly in a clockwise direction
  • check your position from time to time, and if necessary, adjust the difference. It is ok if you slightly diverge. What’s important is that you give it your undivided attention for the full 60 minutes and that you complete the full turn.
  • at the end of the spin, step out of the circle.

We turn and so does the World…
Join us next year on May 23rd, 2021
from 6 to 7 PM CET!

About Us

Gábor Goda and Gyöngyi Beer first met as teacher and disciple in 2007. Years later, they lead a number of Weight-flow Contact groups and silence-retreat camps together. Their paths crossed in 2011, in the   One – Day –  Turn event as well, and they continue to work together in these two important areas of their lives until now.

Gábor Goda and the team of Artus Studio have been working and creating together for over 35 years. Every action of art they create is a manifestation that is an analogy to life, or maybe, even to the great Order that determines the nature of life. Artus is an open and versatile creative art studio, the meeting point of different people, ideas, art forms and disciplines.

The first One – Day – Turn of Gábor Goda occurred on May 23, 2010. The members of Artus team assisted the process. (Bea Gold, Gáspár Téri, Pál Körmendi and Melinda Virág)
In 2011, Gyöngyi Beer also accomplished the 24-hour spin.
Since then, many others have joined in and done the 360° full turn in synchrony with the Earth, over the years. Among them, there have been those who did the spin over the period of 4 hours or 24 hours (Attila Sipos, Ádám Fülöp, Ádám Sápi), those who were present as assistants in the process, and those who supported the process with their presence and attention.

In 2017, at one of the “Silence and Weight-flow Contact” retreats, the first “one – hour – turn” occurred. The spin around has been a crucial part of the retreat ever since.

Today, in times when everything that is going on in the world points out to the importance of our relationships and our interconnectedness, we started to work on the launch of a world-wide movement – meditation, in which we invite people to pause for a while, spin around a single time, over the period of an hour, at appointed day and time.
