Einstein’s dreams – 2001

Trailer

performance near action theatre

The concept of the creative process is part of the play itself. A unified work is created, although in reality many autonomous creators make the performance, at different times, in different places like Budapest, Sopron, Zurich, Jerusalem, Amsterdam.

Present and past members of the Artus Company each create a 1-10 minute work, that touches the thoughts formulated below. Cast of the individual creations is made up of Artus members and guest artists invited by the creators. 25 senior architecture majors take part in the creation of the space of the performance and of the exhibition related to the evening, who design spaces inspired by work phases of theater and choreography, and build their mock-ups.

The units and the final version is also inspired by the following thoughts:

Each city is isolated and has its own time.
The time is a circle.  Time is flow of water.  There is no time, only images.
Time passes more slowly for people in motion.
Imagine that time is a sense like sight or like taste.
Suppose that time is not quantity, but quality.

Einstein hoped there was order in the world. His famous quote “God does not throw a dice” is the expression of his belief that there is a law in the world that everything and everyone abides by, and which can be deciphered with thinking and a heart. His hopes have been dissipated.

But we all keep hoping in the Order because there is no other way.
